The EcoGlow Safety 600 Chick Brooder is the efficient and safe way to keeping newly hatched poultry warm. The low voltage heater panel warms the chicks directly by contact and radiant heat mimicking hen contact. This unit does not provide light and so provides chicks with a more natural day & night cycle than a heat lamp.
Brinsea state this unit is suitable for up to 20 chicks when hatched. Our advice is that chicks grow and generally we suggest buying the larger 1200 model unless using a Mini II incubator. Sealed to the stringent IPX7 electrical safety standard and operates at 12v for electrical safety, mains adaptor included. The unit is far more economical than a conventional infrared lamp, using about 5% of the electricity of a 250 watt suspended lamp (this unit is 12 watts)
The ECO Glows are easy to clean but we include a FREE pack of clear plastic covers because as your chicks grow they will perch on top of the brooder and poop there! The plastic covers can easily be rinsed off
Easy adjustment of height for different sized chicks.
Our tip is to set the brooder at an angle allowing the chicks to move gradually closer to the plate until they find the ideal temperature.
Supplied with a mains adaptor incorporating a 3-metre lead.
PLEASE NOTE: This product is for indoor use only and the room temperature should not drop below 10° C (50° F). The EcoGlow should be located in an area free from draughts and chicks should be provided with plenty of bedding.
