The ChickenGuard Barn Coop is a game-changer in the plastic coop market. It has so many unique innovations that we love that make it a practical and elegant coop to grace any garden. It easily fits 6 standard chickens and more if you have bantams.

The coop is constructed from 9mm recycled plastic and features an aluminium frame that gives it a greater strength and rigidity so it’s tough…. very tough! At the same time, the design has been carefully thought through to represent a traditional countryside barn so it will never look out of place in a green space.

As the construction material is plastic, the barn is easy to clean, easy to maintain and with very few joints, it’s red mite resistant. In additon, the Barn has some unique features that we adore and will make chicken keeping easier. These include:

Unique one-handed latch system. The nest box lid and back hatch have an innovative twist latch that allows you to open or close both with one arm. It’s perfect if you need to pick a hen up from your coop and put the back cover back in place, all while on your own!

Rain proof air vents. The circular vents are cleverly designed to let airflow through but no rain into the coop. Above the nest box there is permanent castellation ventilation that is tucked up under the roof overhang so not even sideways rain would make it inside the coop.

Aluminium Frame. The internal, high quality aluminium frame provides a strong, robust foundtion for the coop. It delivers exceptional durability.

Drainage holes spaced across the floor for easy coop cleaning drainage. This is such a simple thing, but when cleaning out, you’ll be thanking ChickenGuard! Very few coops are sited perfectly level and it’s a real problem if your drainage holes are only in the centre of your coop, so that any water used during clean down settles anywhere but near the drainage holes (can you tell that we know this from experience?). With drainiage holes strategically placed across the floor, this is far less likely to happen.

ChickenGuard All-In-One Auto-Opener Included. The Barn is designed by the market leader in coop auto-openers so it’s designed to take their fantastic auto-openers. We have both ChickenGuard All-in-One’s and ChickenGuard Pro Auto-openers on coops for our own flock and that’s because we trust them. The All-In-One can be programmed to open and close based on light levels, timers or manual and you can mix & match e.g. open on timer but close on light levels.

Solid Recycled Plastic Perches. The perches are solid and sturdy and have a curve to the edges where the hens will grip so that it’s comfortable for them to roost. They also feature a slight texture aross the top which gives more grip, but unlike wood, they are easy clean and will not stain with the inevitable chicken poop and mud that the hens feet will leave behind.
